A startup in the F&B industry, YOLO has a mission to make healthy and tasty food accessible to everyone.

The Problem

As a first time entrant into the F&B industry, the client required everything from branding, design, marketing, and operational support to tech, manpower and menu advice.

The Solution

Organisation of Operations

GEC leveraged on its connections within the local F&B scene, connecting them with two key strategic partners who helped us refine the concept and the process flow. We also assisted in the hiring of key operations personnel and with day to day accounting and incorporation.

Defining the Brand

To set itself apart from its competitors, the team designed a website that was unlike most conventional F&B websites. We did this using loud, vibrant neon colours with a monochromatic background, in line with the need for information to standout. The tone of voice developed with the client focused on irreverent, witty one-liners and slogans.

Strategic Communications Plan

We devised a strategic launch communications plan, helping to source, negotiate and manage a PR agency. Internal communications were integrated by using a lifestyle section on the website that housed information as well bios of its many strategic partners.

Digital Marketing Strategy

GEC built a brand manual and social media guidelines to ensure overall brand consistency both online and offline. Targeted social advertising campaigns ensured a rapid growth in a relevant fan-base (resulting in more than 1,000 fans in two months, all who all lived and worked within 2km of the original outlet).

IT Solutions

We created a mobile responsive website for easy navigation on different platforms, including the integration of a mobile ordering platform and a CMS for simple content uploads.

The Outcome:

YOLO is one of the go-to names in Singapore’s healthy F&B scene. We secured coverage in tier one media, including The Straits Times, Business Times and Today Newspaper as well as live radio interviews. YOLO now has two stores and is one of the top 5 restaurants on UberEats in Singapore.
